- Hardwoop Flooring
We chose to go with Ipe (Brazilian Wallnut) which is a very hard wood and will be able to stand up to two Great Danes.

I love the way your floors turned out... I chose the same flooring & seeing it in your house makes me feel good about my decision. I can't wait to put mine down.
Did you or subs have any problems putting them down? A flooring contractor in Raleigh (NC) told me about using a water-based sealer on IPE which is a bit more per sq. foot, but I don't know...
Hey man, I love your house. I have been watching your blog for months and my only complaint is the lengthy intervals between posting (except recently...) I wish you gave us more text and photos. I know how time consuming can be, though. No sweat. Great house! Really, keep up the good work!

Working on a similar project right now...curious what you're going to do about trim (baseboard, around doors, windows, etc.)?
